The text "Barcamp" in the center represents the platform which connects participants (barcampians).

Bird:

    Bird represnts a true barcampian who is agile and free soul.
    Different sizes of these birds represents barcampian having different capabilities in   
    different fields.

Color:

     Color of three birds and text represents color of the Indian Flag.
     Yellow as background color represents optimism.

ATTN: ANAND KRISHNASWAMY PLEASE SEND ME THE VECTOR FILE FOR THIS LOGO -- aashishsolanki[at] gmail.com WE NEED TO FREEZE THE LOGO BY TONIGHT(TUESDAY). We will need to tweak this logo quite a bit to fit all print mediums. Otherwise the other logo can be used.(one that has same votes as yours) ATTN:Aashish (and anyone else) Does anyone have the software to convert jpegs/png into a vector file?

I really like the idea of the barcode!!!! somehow, the color scheme doesn't appeal to me that much. I think a combination of this one and the very first one (color scheme) would be awesome!!!! Also, I think Barcamp Bangalore is an established brand. I would prefer if we don't change it to Bangaluru.... wat say?

An interesting thing about this barcode idea is the way the date of the event is captured below the barcode!

Probably a bit too different from the original logo. 5 points for figuring out the letters CAMP hidden in the logo before reading this(2 points afterwards) here's a slightly different version
